The company was founded in 1918 by our Incorporators for the common purpose of insuring their property.  Our heritage was built on "rock solid" foundation laid out by their excellent leadership and conservative decision making.

Coupling their dedication and loyalty with that of the Agents who wrote for them, they formed a source of strength that has carried the Company through the years. In keeping with that tradition our mission statement is "Farmers Union Co-Operative Insurance Company is a for profit company organized for the sole purpose of providing the best Property and Casual Insurance Services in the markets we serve while maintaining a high level of integrity."

We are part of the Farmers Mutual Hail Group with over $265,305,767 in policyholder surplus.
